Ireland has quietly become one of the most attractive study destinations in Europe for international students. It combines genuinely high-quality university education with an entirely English-speaking environment, a welcoming culture, and strong post-study work rights – all at a cost that is typically lower than the UK or USA. For Bangladeshi students looking to study in Europe without the language barrier of Continental universities, Ireland is a compelling choice.
Annual study costs in Ireland – including tuition and living expenses – typically range from EUR 20,000 to EUR 35,000. Scholarships reduce this burden significantly, and Ireland offers a diverse range of funding options from government, university, and private sources. Rico International guides Bangladeshi students through every step of finding, applying for, and securing Irish scholarship opportunities.

Ireland’s universities consistently rank among Europe’s best, and tuition fees are generally lower than comparable institutions in the UK or USA. Scholarships reduce the financial commitment further, making an Irish degree one of the most cost-effective internationally recognised qualifications available to Bangladeshi students.
Ireland’s scholarship landscape spans government programmes, university merit awards, EU-linked grants, research council fellowships, and private foundation support. Awards are available at undergraduate, postgraduate, and doctoral levels across virtually all subject areas.
Ireland is the only fully English-speaking country within the European Union – a significant practical advantage for Bangladeshi students. There is no language barrier to navigate, and an Irish degree opens doors not only in Ireland but across the entire EU jobs market.
Ireland offers a Third Level Graduate Scheme allowing international graduates to remain and work in Ireland for up to two years after completing their studies (or three years for PhD graduates). This makes Ireland particularly attractive for students looking to gain international work experience after their degree.
Ireland is home to the European headquarters of many of the world’s leading technology and pharmaceutical companies – including Google, Meta, Apple, Pfizer, and Microsoft. Scholarship recipients benefit from Ireland’s exceptional industry connections and graduate employment environment.

Many Irish universities award entrance scholarships automatically to high-performing undergraduate applicants based on academic results. These typically offer partial tuition reductions and do not require a separate scholarship application.
Postgraduate merit scholarships are available at most Irish universities for taught Master’s programmes. Awards range from partial tuition reductions to full fee waivers, assessed on the basis of CGPA and academic references.
Research students pursuing Master’s by research or PhD programmes have access to stipend-bearing scholarships through the Irish Research Council, Science Foundation Ireland, and individual university research funds. These often include tuition fee remission, a monthly stipend, and conference or travel support.

Note: Automatic scholarships are awarded upon admission without a separate application. Where additional awards are listed as available via separate application, Rico International will guide you through the process.
Begin exploring scholarship options 8 to 12 months before your intended start date. Most Irish university scholarship deadlines fall between February and April for September entry. Government scholarship applications through the GOI-IES typically open in January with a March deadline.
The majority of Irish scholarships are merit-based. A minimum CGPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale is typically required for automatic awards, while the most competitive scholarships – including GOI-IES and Trinity College Dublin – require 3.5 or above. Strong consistent grades across your academic history are essential.
Many of Rico International’s Irish partner universities consider students for automatic scholarships at the point of admission – no additional application is needed. For the GOI-IES and competitive university awards, separate scholarship applications are required. Rico International will help you manage both processes simultaneously.
For competitive awards such as the Government of Ireland scholarship, the personal statement is as important as your academic transcript. Clearly articulate your academic background, career aspirations, why you have chosen Ireland, and how the scholarship will enable you to make a meaningful contribution upon your return to Bangladesh.
Ireland offers a unique combination of world-class education, English-language delivery, strong post-study work rights, and genuine accessibility for Bangladeshi students. With the right scholarship strategy, an Irish degree is more achievable than many students realise. Rico International’s experienced consultants provide personalised, end-to-end support – from identifying the right awards to submitting a polished application and securing your student visa.
