Canada is home to a massive international student body and is renowned for providing globally recognized degrees along with high-quality education at reasonable tuition costs. Canada remains a popular study destination for Bangladeshi students due to its great quality of life, excellent post-study employment prospects, and clear pathways for immigration.

Here’s why Canada has become a popular destination among international students:
Cities that Welcome Students: Canada is a country that welcomes students. According to the QS Best Student Cities 2026 list, three Canadian cities (Montréal, Toronto, and Vancouver) are within the top 30 worldwide. Montréal is currently ranked as the top student city in Canada.
Internationally Renowned Universities: Canada is renowned for providing high-quality, reasonably priced education. The QS World University Rankings 2026 features three Canadian institutions within the world’s top 50: McGill University, the University of Toronto, and the University of British Columbia.
Post-Study Work Rights: Canada grants post-study work rights for a maximum of three years through the Post-Graduation Work Permit (PGWP).
Experience with Multiple Cultures: Canada is home to a number of international students, contributing to its famously multicultural educational system. You get the opportunity to engage with pupils from diverse backgrounds.
Government Focus on Quality (NEW): Recent policy shifts indicate a new focus on attracting high-calibre students, particularly those in Master’s and PhD programs, who may benefit from prioritized application processing.

Living Expenses:
For a single applicant, the minimum financial requirement for living expenses (excluding tuition and travel) is now CAD 22,895 per year (for applications submitted on or after September 1, 2025).
Your general annual living expenses (housing, food, transportation, etc.) can range between CAD 15,000 and CAD 25,000 annually, depending heavily on the city (e.g., Vancouver and Toronto are much higher).
